Book 61: Means of Ascent

"The Years of Lyndon Johnson" is a comprehensive biography of Lyndon B. Johnson written by American author Robert Caro. The series, which spans four published volumes with a fifth expected, delves into Johnson's early life, education, and extensive political career, encompassing over 3,000 pages of detailed narrative. Caro is undoubtedly the definitive biographer of Johnson, but also arguably of power and corruption. This books specifically references LBJ’s rise to the Senate. If you are only going to read one of these huge books, I’d read this one. If you are in for the long haul, read them in sequence.
